BOO'S DREAM

The 42-foot Biloxi lugger, Boo’s Dream, was really a dream come true.  Gerald Joseph “Boo Boo” Broussard was a fisherman for decades when he finally got the opportunity to build his own fishing vessel.  He built it at Covacevich Shipyard on the Back Bay.  He began the construction in 1986, working twelve-hour days until it was finally completed in 1988.  The wooden hull, single-rig commercial trawler was powered by a diesel engine.  Broussard shrimped and oystered from Boo’s Dream from 1998 until June of 2000.
